MCGOWAN GOVERNMENT —
PERFORMANCE
1005. Mr D.T. REDMAN to the Premier:
I
have a supplementary question. Does the Premier think that it reflects on his
government's metro-centric priorities that the only performance
target updated in recent data was a Metronet-related target?

AnswerView source ↗

The answer is clearly no. It is
interesting that the member for Warren–Blackwood has a culture of
complaint. He complains so much.
Mr D.T. Redman interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Warren–Blackwood! You have had your go.
Mr M. McGOWAN : I just want to make an observation
about the member. He complains so much that when we spent $30 million on a pipeline
to deliver water to his electorate, he objected. He gets angry when we fix a problem
for his electorate that he was always unable to fix. I was down in the member
for Vasse's electorate the other day. The government is building all
sorts of things down in her electorate, yet all she ever does is complain.
Ms L. Mettam interjected.
Mr M. McGOWAN : Seriously,
there she goes again.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members, I want
to hear the Premier's speech.
Mr M. McGOWAN : She just
whines and whinges. That is what the Liberals and Nationals do; they whine and
they whinge.
Ms L. Mettam interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Vasse! I call you to order for the first time.
Mr M. McGOWAN : We deliver
things for her electorate that the previous government was never able to
achieve and all she does is whine and whinge. The Deputy Leader of the Liberal
Party does not whine or whinge—he does not say anything actually—but
we are building a $70 million school in his electorate to meet the needs of his
constituents. To be fair, he does not whine or whinge, but he does not say
anything positive. He has sort of lost his voice in recent months. He has lost
his mojo like—who lost their mojo again?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Mr M. McGOWAN : He is like
Austin Powers; he has lost his mojo.
In other words, the member for
Warren–Blackwood will run those arguments. I accept that the National
Party will run those arguments, but across regional Western Australia, which I visit
regularly, we are implementing all sorts of initiatives and things to fix
longstanding issues that the previous government never did.
Mrs L.M. Harvey : An
unimpressive man.
Mr M. McGOWAN : Ask me a question.
The SPEAKER : Do you want to
ask a question, Leader of the Opposition, or was that just a comment?
Mrs L.M. Harvey : I am sorry.
I was talking to my colleagues.
