17 clients have been discharged to self-management. Upon enrolment into classes the likelihood of being discharged is discussed and during classes alternatives are discussed. Upon discharge the clients have a one on one session with the physio to discuss the future. 27 were retained in CPS programs. (Based on data since September 2004) Clients are discharged from the program (not refused re-entry). Discharge is based on assessment of the client's medical needs by the class physiotherapist. Exact figures on the number of clients who would have liked to have stayed in the program are unavailable as the discharge code does not discern between those who are happy to self manage and those who are not. (b) (i) 44 clients have completed the 10 week course. (ii) 2 repeated 10 week program (iii) Clients do not repeat the 10-week education and exercise program more than twice. If medical needs indicate they will benefit from a specialised course, they are retained in the most appropriate CPS program, as indicated in (a). (c) 33. (d) Not through the Department of Health. The Community Physiotherapy Service is provided out of recurrent Department of Health funds, which amounted to $146,688 in 2003/04 and, is estimated to be $176,650 in 2004/05. Thus it could be considered a subsidised program.
