For each department and agency within the Minister’s portfolios, I ask:
(a) as at 23
November 2010, how many vehicles are allocated to the department or agency;
(b) what washing arrangements are provided for each vehicle;
(c) if any vehicle was commercially cleaned since 23 September 2008, please provide:
(i) the cost breakdown for each vehicle and cleaning bill;
(ii) how often each vehicle is booked in to be commercially cleaned;
(iii) the address where the vehicle is cleaned; and
(iv) advise whether vehicles are cleaned during office hours; and
(d) what detailing arrangements are provided for each vehicle;
(e) if any vehicle was commercially detailed since 23 September 2008, please provide:
(i) the cost breakdown for each vehicle and detailing bill;
(ii) how often each vehicle is booked in to be commercially detailed;
(iii) the address where the vehicle is detailed; and

For the period 21 April 2010 to 23 November 2010 inclusive please find the answer below.
For the Curriculum Council of WA
(a) 12 vehicles.
(b) Garaging officers are normally required to clean vehicles, however on occasions where a vehicle is required to be taken on gravel roads during business trips there is provision for officers to claim car wash expenses.
(c) Three vehicles were washed through the local car wash on return from country trips.
(i) $15.00 per vehicle.
(ii) As required (see response to (b)).
(iii) Two vehicles cleaned at BP garage Innaloo - one vehicle cleaned at Caltex garage Balcatta.
(iv) Cleaned during office hours.
(d) - (e) Not applicable.
(f) $45.00.
For the Department of Education Services
(a) Eight vehicles (plus two vehicles in disposal process).
(b) Five vehicles are allocated car wash facilities on fuel card. Three vehicles are washed by their drivers at their own expense.
(c) Not applicable.
(d) None.
(e) Not applicable.
(f) Five vehicles' total cleaning cost is $152.49.
For the Department of Education
(a) 715 vehicles.
(b) Some operational vehicles have car wash access on fuel cards whilst others are washed at Central Office, 151 Royal Street, EastPerth. No Senior Officer Vehicle scheme vehicles are washed. This is the responsibility of the officer.

(c)(ii) Central Office pool vehicles are washed weekly. Outstation vehicles that have car wash access on fuel cards are cleaned as required.
(c)(iii) Central Office pool vehicles are washed at Central Office, 151 Royal Street, EastPerth; and outstation vehicles can be washed at various locations.
(c)(iv) Vehicles may be washed during office hours if not in use.
(d) Vehicles are not detailed. However, remote area vehicles are commercially cleaned externally and internally as the interiors become heavily soiled due to the environment they operate in. These items are included under (c)(i) above.

For the Country High School Hostels Authority
(a) Two.
(b) Vehicle 1: driver washes vehicle (car wash option on fuel card).

(b) Fuel cards assigned to Tourism Western Australia vehicles provide for the use of car washing facilities at participating service stations. Tourism Western Australia policy requires vehicle custodians to keep vehicles in a clean, tidy and well-maintained condition, including regular washing.
