SAFER COUNTRY ROADS INITIATIVE
598. Hon KEN TRAVERS to the minister representing the Minister
for Transport:
I refer to the safer country roads initiative.
(1) How much is allocated to this initiative for the 2012–13
financial year?
(2) How much of the funding for this initiative in 2012–13
comes from —
(a) the safer roads program;
(b) royalties for regions;
(c) the road trauma trust account;
(d) the local roads program;
(e) the black spot program; and
(f) other programs, and please
specify?
(3) How much is allocated in each year of the forward
estimates?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) A total of $78.2 million has been allocated.
(2) (a) $31.220 million;
(b) $8.8 million;
(c) $20 million;
(d) $l3.279 million;
(e) nil; and
(f) $5 million minor works
contribution to royalties for regions project.
(3) Funding for this program is determined as part of the
annual budgetary process.
