I refer to the control of firearms in Western Australia (WA), and I ask: (a) how many firearm license holders amended their storage location in 2023; (b) of those identified in (a), how many were subject to an in-person inspection by WA Police; (c) how many random in-person firearm storage inspections did WA Police conduct in 2023; and (d) of those identified in (c), how many met compliance for the safe storage of firearms?

(a-b) The Western Australia Police Force are unable to provide a response to this question, as the number of firearms license holders who amend their storage location is no longer captured in police record holdings.
(c-d) The WA Police Force are unable to provide a response to this question as 'random firearms storage inspections' is not recorded on police record holdings. However, WA Police Force advise that firearms storage inspections are regularly conducted by all police officers throughout the State.
