I refer to question No. 490, regarding the proposed coal mining near Margaret River, and I ask -
(1) For each of the 12 mining exploration licence applications, the one mining lease application, the seven granted mining leases, and the four granted exploration licences, -
(a) who is the proponent (the name in which the exploration licence/exploration licence application/mining lease/mining exploration lease is held);
(b) will the Minister provide a map showing the location and size of the mining exploration licence/mining lease; and
(c) what is the life of the lease or licence?
(2) In relation to the LD Operations mining licence, will the Minister, -
(a) table a map showing the location and size of the mining lease; and
(b) advise what is the life of the mining lease?

(b) The attached map [see tabled paper no] depicts the location of the mining tenements and the attached Tenement Schedule details the tenement areas.
(c) Refer to the attached Tenement Schedule in (1)(a) which details the term (grant and expiry date) of the tenements. There are extension/renewal provisions under the
Mining Act 1978
which may be utilised by the tenement holder to extend/renew the term of the tenements.
