I thank the member
for the question, and it is an important one, because we want to make sure that
we did a range of things in this budget. It was earlier than usual. Usually
when a government comes out of an election in March, it does a budget in
September. We brought it forward to June so that we could get on with the job
of making sure that we activated the commitments that we could. We know that
women's health centres provide an essential service for people right across
this state. That is one of the reasons why we pledged and uplifted them during
the election. We are committed to delivering that promise. We continue to work
with the sector to understand the most effective way we can implement that
uplift, and obviously we will have more to say about that in the future. But it
does not in any way indicate that we are not committed to that particular
funding. It is important funding, because we know that they provide not only essential
community services, but also essential services in relation to family and
domestic violence. Our government is the government that has significantly
increased funding for family and domestic violence in this state by over half a
billion dollars since 2021. We will do more, because we know that we need to do
more in this sector. Women's health centres play a really important role in our
communities, and we will work with them to understand what is the best
deployment of these dollars, crystallise that expense and then be able to place
it in the financial documents of the state.
