(a) Yes. This will come into affect once legislative changes have been made to the Electricity Industry Act 2004. The Office of Energy is initiating the changes and anticipates these to be proclaimed on 1 October 2004 or soon after.
To enable the tariff changes to occur, caravan park owners will be exempt from the licensing provisions of the Electricity Industry Act 2004 which requires a party to be licensed to on-sell electricity. The exemption will be on the condition that caravan park owners limit electricity prices to an amount equivalent to Western Power's uniform residential tariff charges. Other conditions relating to information and enforcement will also apply.
(b) The Energy Supply Subsidy will be available to permanent caravan park residents who are holders of a:
· Centrelinke Health Care Card
· Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink or Department of Veteran's Affairs
· WA Seniors Card
· Veterans' Affairs Gold Card for TPI, EDA, War Widow or dependents
· Seniors Health Card.
The amount of the subsidy is 25.57 cents per day.
