(2) Is there an agreement between the WAFIC and the Department of Fisheries in relation to the annual payment of these monies to the WAFIC and will the Minister table the agreement? (4) Is WAFIC required to provide an annual acquittal report to the department and will the Minister table the last acquittal report provided by WAFIC?

(1) The contribution to WAFIC based on 0.5 per cent of the gross value of product (GVP) of managed fisheries amounts to $1.7m in 2015-16. WAFIC will receive an additional contribution of $50,000 for its role representing pearling and aquaculture marine lease holders.
(2) There is a Funding Agreement between the Department of Fisheries and WAFIC in relation to annual payment of these monies. A copy of the Funding Agreement is tabled for the information of the member.

(3) The purpose for which WAFIC is required to apply the monies is reflected broadly in part 1, section 4 of the Fish Resources Management Regulations 1995 which describes WAFIC as the 'peak industry body'. The responsibilities of WAFIC are detailed further in the Funding Agreement.
(4) WAFIC is subject to performance monitoring and review as set out in the Funding Agreement, and is informed by WAFIC's Annual Report.

. Performance of WAFIC (in accordance with the Funding Agreement) is also subject to regular meetings between the Director General of the Department of Fisheries and the Chief Executive Officer of WAFIC.
