MEMBER FOR VASSE — ROAD TRAFFIC INCIDENT — RACHAEL
TURNSECK
398. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the Premier's answer to question without
notice 213 and the subsequent lack of transparency around the Department of the
Premier and Cabinet's investigation into the events of 22 and 23
February 2014.
(1) Given that
Ms Narelle Cant, Mr Brian Pontifex and Ms Dixie Marshall all failed to ask Ms
Turnseck on either 9 or 10 March why she failed to disclose the damage to the
former Treasurer's vehicle, did any investigations by the department
cover —
(a) Ms Turnseck's failure
to disclose; or
(b) Ms Cant's, Mr Pontifex's
and Ms Marshall's failure to ask?
(2) If yes to (1)(a), what was Ms Turnseck's reason
for non-disclosure?
(3) If yes to (1)(b), what was the reason for their failure
to ask why?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1)–(3)
It is normal practice not to release the details of internal reports concerning
employee conduct that contain personal information. The investigation has been
completed and the director general has concluded that no misconduct has been
committed by any employees; nor has there been a breach of any policy. The
procedures and findings of the investigation have now been reviewed by the
Solicitor-General and the Public Sector Commissioner, who have both agreed with
the actions taken by the director general of the Department of the Premier and
Cabinet.
