MARBLE BAR ROAD —
MAINTENANCE
589. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the condition of the
unsealed sections of Marble Bar Road between Newman and Marble Bar.
(1) How regularly is the section of
road between Nullagine and Marble Bar graded?
(2) What maintenance works have
been carried out on this section of road in the last month?
(3) Are any major works or
improvements planned for this section in the next 12 months?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question, which I answer on behalf of the Minister for
Environment.
(1) Grading works are undertaken
when required.
(2) Works were
undertaken on the road last month. In addition, a crew is currently on site
undertaking maintenance grading between Nullagine and Roy Hill.
(3) Main Roads
has recently allocated maintenance funding for sheeting works, which will be
completed after the next wet season, and by June 2020.
