shipping containers that are transported to or from Fremantle port by rail

(1) Shipping containers currently eligible for subsidy
are loaded import and export containers transported by rail between
North Quay rail terminal and either the Forrestfield intermodal terminal or
Kwinana intermodal terminal, and containers that are filled with hay
transported by rail to North Quay rail terminal for international export.
(2) Interstate
containers, Kalgoorlie-based containers and empty containers are ineligible for
subsidy. The eligibility criteria is
determined through commercial negotiation with the North Quay rail terminal
operator to support the effective use of taxpayer funds and align with
government policy to reduce congestion on metropolitan roads.
