(a - h) The provision of bus shelters and other discretionary infrastructure such as seats and bins at bus stops is undertaken by local governments. State Government, through the Public Transport Authority's Bus Shelter Grants Scheme, contributes to the cost of some new shelters however, ownership and ongoing care and maintenance of these shelters is the responsibility of individual councils.
