BEHAVIOUR
MANAGEMENT CENTRES
297. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH to
the Minister for Education:
I refer to an article in The
West Australian dated 15 October 2012 titled ''Barnett may shut down
centres for disruptive students'', which states —
The Barnett government is
considering shifting the state's 500 most disruptive students from
government to non-government schools in a proposal that would shut down 13
behaviour management centres established by Labor in 2008.
(1) Can the minister advise how much the government plans to
save by closing these centres?
(2) Where are these 500 most disruptive student slated to go?
(3) Is this
not just another desperate attempt by the minister to manage an out-of-control
education budget?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
