I refer to the Minister’s answer to question on notice No. 4226, and I ask in relation to: (a) if the Albany Trade Training Centre is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate I, II or III for 13 hours a week, how is it utilised for the balance of the week; (b) if the Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre at Bunbury Catholic College is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a VET Certificate I, II or III for 19.5 hours a week, how is it utilised for the balance of the week; (c) if the Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre at Eaton Community College is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a VET Certificate I, II or III for 13 hours a week, how is it utilised for the balance of the week; (d) if the Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre at Manea Senior College is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a VET Certificate I, II or III for 13 hours a week, how is it utilised for the balance of the week; (e) if the Busselton Trade Training Centre is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a VET Certificate I, II or III for 40 hours a week, is it utilised after school hours and if yes, on what days; (f) if the Denmark Trade Training Centre is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a VET Certificate I, II or III for 30.5 hours a week, how is it utilised for the balance of the week; and (g) if the Manjimup Trade Training Centre is occupied with year 11 and 12 students enrolled in a VET Certificate I, II or III for 24 hours a week, how is it utilised for the balance of the week?

a. North Albany Senior High School utilises the computer room, science lab and classroom to accommodate timetabled senior school science and health classes that can use the resources and equipment in the Trade Training Centre.
b. Two days are currently being used by Bunbury Catholic College to deliver alternative programs. Throughout the year, “Try A Trade” and similar activities are also offered to consortium schools.

d. Two days are currently being used by Manea Senior College to deliver alternative programs, including:

f. It is not occupied for 9.5 hours a week and is not utilised during this time.

When not in use as a Trade Training Centre, the facility is used to teach Years 7 – 12 non-Vocational Education and Training school students from Manjimup Senior High School.  The Manjimup Trade Training Centre is also used for a “Try a Trade” program where Year 10 students from surrounding district high schools gain an experience to assist them to select future training pathways. Students try a trade by completing projects within each trade area and this assists them to make informed decisions about choosing an appropriate certificate course in Year 11.
