(1) Department for Child Protection case matters are classified as open or closed, not active or otherwise. At their discretion, and when managing workloads for their team, Team Leaders can have responsibility for some open cases. They are responsible for ensuring that urgent matters are responded to and high priority cases are allocated to case workers. Team Leaders are highly experienced and qualified child protection professionals.
(2) No. Team Leaders regularly review cases and allocate specific tasks to Case Workers.
(3) The number of cases under the responsibility of a Team Leader can vary depending on a fluctuating workload demand. Cases are regularly reviewed to consider priority. District Directors have responsibility for ensuring that the workloads of their entire workforce are sustainable.
