BUSH FOREVER SITE, BADGERUP - PARTIAL CLEARANCE
Given that the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure is responsible for the Bush Forever program, I refer the minister to the clearing of 90 per cent of native vegetation at lot 67 Nicholas Road, Wanneroo, which is part of the Badgerup Bush Forever site. (1) Why was the new owner of this bush site allowed to clear 90 per cent of the block in February 2006 when the previous owner was threatened with prosecution for unknowingly clearing only a small portion of it? (2) Did the granting of this permit have anything to do with the fact that the new owners engaged the services of Mr Brian Burke? (3) What action has the minister taken to root out the puppets of Brian Burke from within her departments? Ms A.J.G. MacTIERNAN

Yesterday we had completely unsubstantiated allegations that Brian Burke and Julian Grill had been involved in the approvals for the Esperance port. Today we have further claims. I suggest the member take the matter to the Corruption and Crime Commission if he believes there should be an inquiry. More importantly, if the member actually wanted an answer to that question, he would have given us notice of it.
