I refer to the the additions proposed to formal reserves in the Forest Management Plan (FMP) 2014-2023 (118,170 ha to national parks, 13,470 ha to nature reserves, 73,070 ha to conservation parks and 260 ha to CALM Act 5(1)(g),(h) reserves), some of which were approved in 1987, and I ask:
(a) how many have been gazetted since the FMP came into operation (please give category, name and area);
(b) given that one quarter of the forest claimed to be protected still does not have statutory protection, will the McGowan Government commit to finalising the gazettal of the proposed additions before the next State election; and
(c) if no to (b), why not?

(b)-(c) A key consideration in finalising the gazettal of the proposed additions is the outcome of the South West Native Title Settlement. In accordance with the FMP, all proposed reserves are managed for conservation by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.
