(1)-(2) Wandoo is in short supply and is located in specific areas. Much of our wandoo is in the hills and in water catchment areas. Concern has been expressed about logging in those areas. However, at this stage, while the situation is still being examined, it is not my intention to impose any further restrictions on wandoo logging. We have limited but very keen demand for that timber. Given the restrictions imposed by its highly localised nature, this is a difficult question to answer. At this stage, while concern exists about its presence in water conservation areas and the effect of logging in those areas, I still believe that wandoo will be available in the future.
