I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) With regard to distribution lines, total maintenance expenditure for the metropolitan south west interconnected system is $68 million. On a per-kilometre basis, that equates to $5 666 per kilometre. Total maintenance expenditure for the country SWIS is $118.13 million. On a per-kilometre basis, that equates to $2 109 per kilometre. (2) With regard to transmission lines, Western Power cannot provide separate metropolitan and regional information for transmission line maintenance costs because many transmission lines traverse the metropolitan area and continue into regional areas. Combined metropolitan and regional maintenance expenditure for transmissions lines is $43.64 million, which equates to $6 478 per kilometre. (3) No depots were closed by Western Power in the three years to 30 June 2006.
