BURSWOOD —
GOVERNMENT LAND SALE
522. Hon ED DERMER to the Leader of the House representing
the Premier:
I refer to the government's decision to sell 5.8
hectares of government-owned land at Burswood to Crown Ltd for $60 million for
the purposes of a new hotel and to the Premier's statement in The West Australian of 2 August 2012
that the unencumbered value of the land being sold was $95 million.
(1) Which government agencies provided the valuation of the
land?
(2) Did the
valuation take into consideration the fact that the land would need to be remediated;
and, if so, what was the estimated cost of the remediation?
(3) Will the Premier table a copy of the valuation of the
land; and, if not, why not?

I thank the member for the question. I indicate that I have
not received an answer to that question other than a message to say that the
Premier is handling legislation in the Assembly today and has been unable to
sign off on the answer, but that it would arrive in this place if that had been
able to be done while question time was being held. That has not happened, so I
suggest that the member ask the question tomorrow.
