814. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to the signed letter of
intent between the state of Western Australia and the federal government to
access $3 billion under the Rewiring the Nation program.
(1) As at 20 June
20024, how much of the $3 billion allocated to WA under this program has been
attributed to specific projects?
(2) Which specific projects have
been funded and to what amount each?
(3) How much of the $3 billion
allocated to WA has actually been received?
(4) What portion of the moneys
received are loans and what portion is equity investment?
(5) What Western Australian
transmission upgrades and new builds have been or will be recipients of the
funding received from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I provide the following answer on behalf of the
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Energy.
(1) The Western Australian
government continues to engage with the federal Department of Climate Change,
Energy, the Environment and Water and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation on
the allocation of the $3 billion commitment under the Rewiring the Nation
program. Allocation to specific projects has not yet occurred.
(2)–(5) Not
applicable.
