MURCHISON HOUSE STATION, STOCK NUMBERS AND DISPUTE
(1) Is Murchison House Station currently stocked; and, if so, what are the current stock numbers? (2) What progress, if any, has been made in solving the current dispute between Murchison House Station and local tour operators who are seeking greater access to public beaches abutting the station lease? Hon GRAHAM GIFFARD

AnswerView source ↗

(1) The number of stock on the station is currently unknown because there has not been an inspection of the station this year and the annual return providing livestock numbers is not due until after 30 June 2000. (2) The matter of access through the station for tourism purposes is still under consideration. It is clear that access to pastoral leases by the community is becoming an increasingly important issue, and this is one of a number of matters that will be addressed at the forthcoming pastoral industry forum.
