Given that the working groups have conducted detailed discussions and reviews over a period of some months, the introduction of new members at this time would be disruptive. However, the Pastoralists and Graziers Association have been repeatedly invited to make submissions to any or all of the working groups to advocate their position on any matters of concern. Exclusion of land from pastoral leases at renewal in 2015 is a process governed by the Land Administration Act 1997 (LAA). Under their terms of reference, three of the working groups have provided, to the Minister for Lands, recommendations on exclusion proposals prior to notification to leaseholders of exclusions. Once leaseholders have been given notice by the Minister of their exclusions, the courses of action available to leaseholders are specifically prescribed by the LAA.
