ROCKINGHAM SHANTYTOWN
450. Mr A. KRSTICEVIC to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Mr D.J. Kelly interjected.
The SPEAKER : Minister for Water,
I call you to order for the first time.
Mr A. KRSTICEVIC : Will the
Premier accept a bipartisan invitation from myself to visit the shantytown to
understand the plight of some of the most vulnerable people in our community?

AnswerView source ↗

I am not interested in stunts.
Mr A. Krsticevic : It's
not a stunt! You should go and see how they are living! Shame on you for
calling it a stunt.
The SPEAKER : Shame on you,
member for Carine. I call you to order for the third time.
Mr M. McGOWAN : I am not interested
in stunts by the member for Carine, who has no support from his own colleagues.
I just remind members of the house —
Mr A. Krsticevic interjected.
Suspension of Member
The SPEAKER : I call the member for Carine to order for the
fourth time. As the member has been called to order more than three
times, I now suspend the member from the service of the house until the
adjournment of today's sitting.
[The member for Carine left the
chamber.]
Questions without Notice
Resumed
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : And you do not
talk while I am on my feet. Minister for Transport, I call you to order, and
member for Churchlands, I call you to order.
Mr M. McGOWAN : I am not
interested in stunts by a person who puts out the most appalling social media—a
low act.
Mrs L.M. Harvey interjected.
The SPEAKER : Leader of the
Opposition!
Ms J.J. Shaw interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Swan Hills—nice strong
voice tone there—I call you to order for the first time. We are nearly
finished.
Mr M. McGOWAN : When it comes
to the Leader of the Opposition, the evidence is here in black and white. She
attacked charities. She accused them of not doing their jobs. The evidence is
there. I will repeat it.
Mr S.K. L'Estrange interjected.
Mr M. McGOWAN : For someone
who would not even run for the deputy leadership, I will explain it to him.
Mr S.K. L'Estrange interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Churchlands, I call you to order for the second time.
Mr M. McGOWAN : The now Leader
of the Opposition said this about not-for-profit organisations, made up of
people who devote their lives to the welfare of others, often for little
reward. She said this about those people in the Salvos, Saint Vincent de Paul,
Ruah, you name it. This is what she had to say —
 those people aren't doing
their jobs properly.
That
is what the now Leader of the Opposition had to say about those people. The
simple fact is that the Liberal Party would make her their leader, when
she says things like that about those people who work in not-for-profit
organisations across our community. It is disgraceful, what she had to say. She
needs to apologise for that, on top of everything else she did when in
government.
The SPEAKER : That is the end
of question time.
