(f) how many meetings they have attended since 1 July 2015?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) There are eight members
appointed to the board.
(2) The board has met 13 times since
1 July 2015.
(3) I table the attached
information. [See paper 3853.]
(4) I seek to
increase gender diversity on statutory boards but the appointment of females to
boards depends upon there being suitable representatives being available to
serve. In this industry it is notoriously difficult to recruit female
representatives. On 28 July 2015, I wrote to the following associations seeking
nominations: Electrical Trades Union of Western Australia; Air Conditioning and
Mechanical Contractors' Association of WA; Master Plumbers and
Gasfitters Association of Western Australia; National Electrical and
Communications Association; Master Electricians Australia; Chamber of Minerals
and Energy of Western Australia; Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia;
Master Builders Association of Western Australia; Property Council of
Australia; Combined Small Business Alliance of WA Inc; Western Australian
Farmers Federation Inc; and Housing Industry Association. On 1 August 2015, the
Department of Commerce advertised in The West
Australian seeking nominations for positions on the board. Nine nominations
were received; however, no women were nominated or self-nominated.
