OPEN-RANGE
ZOO

Minister for Environment:
I have a supplementary question. Given all the work the

zoo provided by his department?

I thank, apparently, the new shadow Minister for Environment
for the question—I am not quite sure what happened there. As was very
clearly articulated, this is the identification of the site. Government has
sought to be very clear. We have identified the site.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : That
is enough!
Mr
A.P. JACOB : What a silly interjection!
Mrs
M.H. Roberts interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Midland, I call you to order for the first time. That
is enough!
Mr
A.P. JACOB : This is an essential part of long-term planning for Perth Zoo.
We have identified a site. We already own the site freehold.
Mr
P.B. Watson interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Albany, I call you to order for the first time.
Mr
A.P. JACOB : We have identified the site. We already own the site. Detailed
design work will happen from here. Members opposite appear to have a literacy
problem, because that was very clearly articulated in our media releases. In
terms of this government's track record on the environment, I will
match it to the record of that rabble any day. We saw eight years of
commitments in the environment portfolio. This government has had to deliver
all of their commitments, and all of ours as well, so do not doubt for a second
that what we say we do in the environment, we deliver every single time, and we
have delivered all of theirs as well, at least the ones that we agreed with—Roebuck
Bay marine park and the Biodiversity Conservation Bill. Keep it coming!
