I refer to the Federal Government allocating $253 million in this year’s Federal Budget towards the Tonkin Highway Stage 3 Extension which extends Tonkin Highway from Thomas Road to the South West Highway, and ask: (a) can the Minister please advise how the $253 million has been allocated so far; (b) if it has not been allocated, please advise why this is the case; (c) if it has been allocated, please provide a status update on the project including delivery time; (d) please advise the outcomes from discussions between WA Planning Commission, Department of Planning, Main Roads WA and the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire in relation to Tonkin Highway Stage 3; and (e) please advise and outline the land parcels required for this extension and include a list of properties identified to be acquired, along with any details in regards to consultation with the relevant land owners?

It should be noted that the Member for Darling Range was a member of the Legislative Council for the East Metropolitan Region for eight and a half years. The East Metropolitan Region encompasses the Darling Range electorate and the Member did not once raise the Tonkin Highway extension in Parliament during this time.
(a)-(e) Funding allocations and timetables will be subject to future budgetary processes and further discussions and consultation will occur as project development work progresses.
