(1) The Cemeteries Act 1986 provides that land to be used for a cemetery is to be gazetted as such following the approval of the Governor. No new cemeteries have been designated as such in the past year.
(2) The funding of cemeteries is a matter for the cemetery board or local government in whose management the cemetery is vested. These are self-funded.
The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) has allocated $5 000 towards investigation of a site in its forward estimates.
(3) The funding of cemeteries is a matter for the relevant local government or cemetery board. No new cemeteries have been gazetted in the past four years.

2014-15 - $27 652
2015-16 - $0
2016-17 - $3 500
2017-18 - $18 694
(4) Not applicable
