BROOME AND DERBY — CAPACITY
130. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I ask this question on behalf of Hon Stephen Dawson, who is away on urgent
parliamentary business. I refer to the morgues located in Broome and Derby.
(1) What is the capacity of each morgue?
(2) How many bodies are currently held in each morgue?
(3) How long has each body been held?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question. The following information has been provided to me
by the Minister for Health.
(1) For Broome morgue, it is 12
bodies. For Derby morgue, it is 12 bodies.
(2) At Broome morgue, there are nine
bodies. At Derby morgue, there are eight bodies.
(3) As of 26
February 2015, bodies currently in the morgue have been held since the
following dates: at Broome morgue, 18 November 2014, 5 December 2014, 9 January
2015, 31 January 2015, 1 February 2015, 6 February 2015, 9 February 2015, 19
February 2015 and 19 February 2015; and at Derby morgue, 24 December 2014, 4
January 2015, 31 January 2015, 1 February 2015, 12 February 2015, 17 February
2015, 21 February 2015 and 25 February 2015.
