Which programs are successfully working in primary schools and which are successfully working in secondary schools? Hon PETER COLLIER

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. A range of well-researched social and emotional learning programs and frameworks are supported by the Department of Education. These include KidsMatter, Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies, MindMatters, Aussie Optimism and Friendly Schools Plus. The department supports these programs, as they have been subject to rigorous scientific research that has demonstrated their efficacy. In addition, public schools make their own choices and access other programs and resources to assist them in this domain. I have the information in tabular form and seek leave to table it and have it incorporated into Hansard . Leave granted. [See paper 2796.] The following material was incorporated — Primary Secondary KidsMatter (framework) KidsMatter Early Childhood (framework) Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) PATHS Early Childhood Aussie Optimism Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (framework) MindMatters (framework) Friendly Schools Plus Resourceful Adolescent Program Aussie Optimism Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (framework)
