Planning:
I refer to question without notice
1151 asked yesterday concerning meetings between Mr Sam Barnett and certain
agencies within the minister's portfolio.
(1) What sites
within the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority's purview were
discussed concerning a potential Confucius garden concept?
(2) Did any staff
from any agencies in the minister's portfolio meet with Mr Sam Barnett
and/or Pearllargo and/or Citylex Pty Ltd representatives to discuss this garden
concept or any other matter between 1 July 2012 and 1 July 2014?
(3) If yes to (2) —
(a) on what date or dates;
(b) what was the nature or subject of
the meetings; and
(c) what is the name of all persons
present at the meetings?

introductory discussion established that the group was looking for a major site
beyond the scope of the MRA's CBD sites. As such, I am advised that it
was suggested that the group consider exploring other outer metropolitan
locations such as the Swan Valley.
(2) I am advised
that no staff from the Department of Planning, WA Planning Commission or the
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority met with Mr Sam Barnett and/or representatives
from Pearllargo or Citylex Pty Ltd during this time period.
(3) Not applicable.
