669. Hon KATE DOUST to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Finance:
I refer to the non-payment of
subcontractors working on government projects associated with the company, CPD Group.
(1) Can the
minister and his department guarantee that directors, shareholders or staff
associated with CPD Group are not involved with other companies currently
working on government contracts?
(2) If the minister cannot provide
that reassurance, why not?
(3) If the
minister and his department are aware that directors, shareholders or staff
associated with CPD Group are involved with companies currently working on
government contracts —
(a) what is the name of the company
or companies; and
(b) what are the projects the company
or companies are working on?

(1)–(3) The
Department of Finance does not maintain a comprehensive register of the current
employment status of all former CPD Group directors, shareholders and staff.
However, the department is aware that a minority shareholder—5.5 per cent—of
CPD is also a director of Access Without Barriers Pty Ltd. This individual is
listed as having been a director with that company since 25 March 2014. Access
Without Barriers is currently undertaking two contracts for the department—a
roof replacement project at Mount Barker Community College and a ceiling
replacement and associated works at Central Midlands Senior High School.
