COLLEGE GROVE, BUNBURY — DEVELOPMENT 34. Hon PAUL LLEWELLYN to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Lands: Hon John Castrilli, MLA, stated to the media on several occasions prior to the election that the controversial development by LandCorp at College Grove in Bunbury would cease if the Liberal Party won the election. (1) Is the government intending to stand by this promise? (2) Is the government intending to protect the remaining bushland at College Grove? Hon WENDY DUNCAN

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) The government is liaising with the joint venture partners—the City of Bunbury, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure through the state land services division and LandCorp—on the College Grove development. It needs to assess the financial impacts on both the city and the state government of preventing future development at College Grove. Associated with this, government is investigating the potential to exchange alternate crown land parcels in Bunbury with the joint venture to ensure a cessation of the development at College Grove. Hon John Castrilli, MLA, has been instrumental in initiating this undertaking.
