I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Department of Indigenous Affairs advises — (1) The Aboriginal Lands Trust and the Department of Indigenous Affairs are currently addressing the appointment of a caretaker for the Mogumber Mission Farm as a priority. Up to and including 5 March 2008, there was a caretaker at the farm; however, since 6 March 2008 there has been no caretaker in residence. An expression of interest for the position will be advertised as soon as practicable. (2) It cannot be determined at this time whether the state government will assist in funding the repair of infrastructure at Mogumber Mission Farm. Neither the Aboriginal Lands Trust nor the Department of Indigenous Affairs is funded to undertake such capital works programs on the ALT estate. The existing funding is generally limited to meeting the ALT’s statutory requirements only.
