204. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the MAX light rail
project.
(1) Could the minister detail the
full amount spent by the state to date on the MAX light rail project?
(2) Could the
minister detail a breakdown of the costs outlined in (1) associated with
private consultants; planning, engineering and environmental assessment;
communication, advertising and promotional materials; and all other costs?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) The MAX
project assessment—assessing all mass transit modes of transport, not
just light rail—cost a total of $25.25 million.
(2) Expenditure
on private consultants was $18.95 million; planning, engineering and
environmental assessment, $17.29 million; communication, advertising and
promotional materials, $110 820; and all other expenditure was $7.8 million.
For the member's information, the totals for the last three categories
are breakdown of the costs in question (1) and are also included within
expenditure for private consultants.
