INDEPENDENT SCIENTIFIC
PANEL INQUIRY INTO HYDRAULICFRACTURE STIMULATION IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA —
REPORT
952. Mr W.R. MARMION to the Minister for Mines and
Petroleum:
I refer to the website of the
Independent Scientific Panel Inquiry Into Hydraulic Fracture Stimulation in Western Australia, which states that the panel
handed its report to the Western Australian government on 12 September 2018.
Why has the government not released the report so as to provide certainty to
the mining and petroleum sector?
The SPEAKER : Good question. I
want to hear the answer to it.

Thank you very much. I am very
pleased to get a question from the shadow minister. It happens so rarely. The
scientific report on fracking was handed to the Minister for Environment,
because of course it was done under the EPA act, and the government is
considering the report.
