How will the member for Maylands vote on this matter? She
will vote ''no'' because she is just not up for reform.
Several members interjected.
Mr C.J. BARNETT :
How will the member for Collie–Preston vote? Will he vote? Will he be
able to get his intellect together? He will not be able to vote. How about the
member for Girrawheen; will she vote for reform? No, she will not vote for
reform because she is not up for it. None of the members opposite are up for
it.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Order, members!
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : What a silly question, but we will persist and members raised

The
SPEAKER : Member for Willagee, I call you to order for the first time.
Mr
M.P. Murray : And I will have 100-odd star jumps—
The
SPEAKER : Member for Collie–Preston, I call you to order for the
first time. I want this answer to be completed now, thank you.
Mr C.J. BARNETT :
There are legitimate issues with Burswood and Vincent, and we are mature enough
on this side of the house to discuss those issues and to try to get to an
agreed position. That may take a little longer, but I do not mind if it takes a
little longer. Members should rest assured that local government reform will
happen. If it does not happen in one big bang but in a series of progressive
steps, it will happen. The interesting thing will be whether the member for
Maylands has the courage to stand up for her community on local government reform,
or will she be one of the weak naysayers who will not show leadership in her
community? She will not be able to do it because she is not up for it. The
member for Collie–Preston is not up for it. He might talk about star
jumps, but I have never been told to pull over and sleep it off on —

the Premier answered the question?
Mr C.J. BARNETT :
Yes I have.
