775. Hon ED DERMER to the minister representing the Minister
for Health:
Some notice has been given of the question.
(1) Will the government
conclude the waiting list national partnership agreement with the commonwealth
government, and by so doing secure the commonwealth dental service funding
entailed in that agreement?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), when does the Minister for Health expect
the agreement to be concluded?

I thank the member for some notice of this question. The
following information has been provided by the Minister for Health —
(1) The
Department of Health is in discussions with the commonwealth Department of
Health and Ageing regarding the proposed national partnership agreement on
public dental waiting lists. The negotiations are being conducted in good faith
with a shared intent of securing better dental health outcomes for Western
Australians.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) It is
expected the outstanding issues will be able to be resolved, and that the
process to enter into the agreement should be concluded later this year or
early next year, subject to cabinet approval.
