I refer to the Government’s election commitment to expand the School Breakfast Program to 5 days a week at 650 schools, and I ask: (a) How many schools are currently delivering the expanded 5-day-a-week program; (b) How many schools are still delivering the program 2 days a week; and (c) When will all 650 schools be delivering the 5-day program?

As at 20 March 2026:
(a) 542
(b) 103 additional schools are delivering the School Breakfast Program up to 4 days per week.
(c) Schools will be supported to continue to sign up to the expanded program for the life of the commitment, and can opt in at any time.
The new payment provided by the Cook Labor Government to cover supervision costs for schools has increased the number providing breakfast 5 days a week by 55 per cent. Over the same period, the number of eligible schools providing breakfasts lifted by 18 per cent.
