I thank the honourable member for
the question. It is a valid question. What has happened today is not
satisfactory. The Premier is acting at the moment. What will happen is that
that position, which is vacant at the moment, will be finalised in a matter of
days. I will do the best that I possibly can, being mindful that I was not
aware that the questions would come in in the form that they did. The Leader of
the Opposition has made a valid point and some of those questions probably
could have been answered. But, given the events of today, I think people were
probably otherwise occupied in those few hours. Having said that, that is no
real excuse and I will follow up and see whether we can perhaps get a more
satisfactory response from the acting minister tomorrow. As I said, I imagine a
new minister will be appointed imminently—that is, in the next couple
of days. Then, of course, members will get more forthright answers. I will see
whether we can get some responses to those ones that have already been asked
without having to put them on notice.
