MANDATORY SENTENCING
I refer the Attorney General to Kim Beazley’s law-and-order policy released on 29 October 2001, in which it is stated that Labor will prohibit the mandatory sentencing of juveniles for property offences throughout Australia. Will the Attorney General guarantee that Western Australia’s mandatory sentencing laws will not be watered down or abolished, regardless of which party is in government after the 10 November election? Mr McGINTY
