Some other sites are categorised urban or industrial development in Bush Forever 2000 (about 1,000 hectares or 2% of the plan) will be subject to some loss of vegetation following negotiated solutions between government and the land owners. Most of these sites have either some finalised negotiated solution or negotiations are well advanced. The Bush Forever office advise that to-date there has been no legal clearing of bushland in any of these sites. Of the other lands in Bush Forever, from 2001 to 2005 and based on the latest available aerial photography, the Bush Forever Office has estimated that about 110 hectares (0.2 % of Bush Forever) of major development has occurred since 2001. This includes development at Perth Airport (Commonwealth land) and resource extraction on sites with prior mining commitments. Other minor development has also occurred, such as rural building envelopes to accommodate rural living development, where permitted. The exact figure for this type of development is expected to be minimal and less than 20 hectares in total. The above figures do not include any illegal clearing to date, which is controlled under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 . 2. The major developments identified in (1) affect seven Bush Forever sites. There are 287 sites in Bush Forever. Commercial and government (including Commonwealth) agencies.
