The extension of the community needs assessment schedule under the recently completed Indigenous Sport and Culture Plan for the Kimberly to include the following communities: Mowanjum, Looma, Bungardi, Burawa, Darlngunaya (Old Fitzroy), Junjuwa, Kurnangki, Joy Springs, Mindi Rardi, Noonkanbah, Yakanarra, Bayulu, Warmun, Lundja, Mardiwah Loop, Nicholson Block, Yardgee, Koongie Park, Yiyili, Jugarini, Wangkajunka, Oombulgurri and Kalumburu.
The establishment of Martu Sport and Recreation Reference Group in the Western Desert Region and the development of a Western Desert Sports Schedule inclusive of an Elite Athlete Program and Western Desert Sports League.

(3) Established the "Inclusive Sport Funding Scheme" that sees $1.2m approved over three years from 2009/10 to fund selected State Sporting Associations to build their capacity to increase participation of targeted populations including and prioritising Indigenous peoples.
Established the "Community Participation Funding" program that sees $525,000 to be invested over three and half years to fund community sport and recreation clubs and
other
community organisations to implement initiatives targeting primarily Indigenous peoples, but also other low participation groups.
Partnered with the Office for Youth, to fund a Project Officer in Narrogin (auspiced through a local indigenous organisation) to facilitate youth focussed initiatives to increase participation and build community capacity.
Established two service agreements with Newcrest Mining in Telfer and BHP Billiton in Newman. These agreements see significant support both in kind and cash for program, salary, travel, accommodation and administration costs for the employment of people to fill the role of Indigenous Sport Development Officers for the Western Desert Region and the communities of Newman, Parnpajinya nd Jigalong.
Through the Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) the Department of Sport and Recreation funded the following local governments for the development of facilities in communities with a significant indigenous population:

For the upgrade to the Wyndham Memorial Swimming Pool water circulation and pool structure
