I refer to the ChemCentre Annual Report 2013-2014 , page 22, "Attraction and retention of staff", which notes 'difficulties in recruiting external expertise, whilst retaining key staff already employed at ChemCentre, are continual challenges. Further, five people departed ChemCentre in budget year 2013-14 as part of wider agency efficiency measures under a Voluntary Separation Scheme', and I ask: (a) why are staff being let go under this scheme if their skills and knowledge are still required; and (b) does this loss of skills and personnel compromise the capabilities of the ChemCentre?
