As a supplementary question, can the Premier give this House some reasons that the federal Government should give Western Australia special consideration on water issues? Dr G.I. GALLOP

AnswerView source ↗

The use of the term “special consideration” astounds me. Western Australia deserves equal consideration as part of the Federation of Australia, and that is what has not come from the Commonwealth Government. The member, as a representative of a section of people of Western Australia, should not come into this Parliament and advocate the interests of the eastern States. He should have a good, hard look at himself.
