FIREARMS —
DESTRUCTION
1368. Hon LOUISE KINGSTON to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to my
question without notice 1091 asked on Tuesday, 17 September regarding the
destruction of firearms by detonation, and I respectfully point out to Hon Sue Ellery, who responded on behalf of
the minister representing the Minister for Police, that I did not ask for the
location of the detonation site, so telling me that due to public safety and
operational security, the information will not be disclosed did not answer the
question asked. Therefore, I ask again.
(1) What measures
are being taken to manage contamination issues at the explosion site?
(2) Are the
remains of the weapons then being reviewed to ensure that no intact parts
remain?
(3) Are staff
working at the sites using suitable personal protective equipment?
(4) How far away
was the person who took the photo?
