The Department of Housing and Works advises:
As at 30 June 2007, 557 vacant properties were returning to the Department to be re-let plus a further 165 properties which were in the process of reallocation. A number of other properties were also undergoing standard vacated maintenance for prompt allocation. The 2007 Report on Government services found that Western Australia had the lowest average turnaround time; that is the lowest time taken to reoccupy public housing.
