1224. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation:
I am glad it is a
Thursday. I refer to the electricity that the South West Interconnected System
will require to maintain supply at peak demand over the impending 2025–26
summer.
(1) What is the maximum amount of electricity
generation in megawatts available to the SWIS at any one time from:
(a) state-owned coal-fired generation;
(b) private coal-fired generation;
(c) state-owned gas generation; and
(d) private gas generation?
(2) What is the maximum amount of stored battery
electricity available to be fed into the SWIS at any one time in megawatts?
(3) What is the total capacity in megawatts of
offtake agreements that Synergy has signed with private wind and solar
renewable energy projects in each of the last five years?
