Fiona Stanley Hospital—Cardiac angiography equipment
700. Ms Libby Mettam to
the Minister for Health:
I refer to
out-of-date cardiac angiography equipment at Fiona Stanley Hospital, which the
government was warned about in 2023.
(1) Has the business case been completed?
(2) Has funding been
provided for the replacement of this equipment and, if so, when will it be in place?

(1)–(2) I thank the member for the
question. Of course, the government is doing a lot of work right across the
health system in its commitment to build new infrastructure, particularly in
our commitment of $1.5 billion in the Building Hospitals Fund to build new
hospitals. We have also put in place the Health Asset Maintenance Fund. On top
of what the government was already doing, $50 million has been rolled out to particular
sites to ensure that we have appropriate maintenance. This will supercharge our
maintenance commitments. Of course, we have an ongoing program that deals with
the replacement of equipment right across our health service providers to
ensure that we undertake upgrades to essential hospital equipment as and when they
are required.
